The Drumgoole Standard
Precision, Integrity, and Your Financial Future
Let’s be honest for a second: most people look at financial planning the same way they look at a trip to the dentist. It’s something you know you should do, but you’re mostly just hoping it’s not too painful and that you don’t get lectured too much.
At Drumgoole Financial, we’ve always believed it shouldn’t feel that way.
When our founder, Brian Drumgoole, started his journey in the financial services industry back in 1994, he didn't do it because he had a lifelong obsession with spreadsheets. He did it because he saw a gap. He saw a world of "big box" finance where people were treated like account numbers, and "advice" was often just a fancy word for a sales pitch.
Brian also brings something you can’t teach in a weekend seminar: he’s a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Those core values—integrity, discipline, and a mission-first commitment—are the rock-solid foundation of The Drumgoole Standard and the driving force behind everything we do for our clients.
He wanted to build something different: a firm where the human element came first and the math followed. Since then, we’ve grown into a team of dedicated advisors working toward one goal: helping families in Jarrettsville and beyond navigate the complexities of wealth with total confidence.
The Question That Changes Everything
Most financial conversations start with "How much?"
How much do you have saved? How much do you want to make? How much can you risk?
While those numbers matter, we like to start somewhere else entirely. We start with: "What is your money for?"
It sounds simple, but it’s actually the most profound question you can ask about your finances. Money isn't the goal; it's the fuel for the life you want to lead. Whether it's making sure your kids graduate debt-free, retiring to a house by the water, or ensuring your family is taken care of if the unthinkable happens, your "why" is the foundation of every recommendation we make.
We aren't here to just move decimals around. We’re here to help you answer The Important Questions that actually keep you up at night.
One Mission, One Standard
When we say we’re "Partners in Wealth and Life," we mean it. This isn’t about staring at a portfolio and calling it a day—it’s about aligning your money with your real life.
Mission-first doesn’t mean “finance at all costs.” It means your goals come first, and the strategy follows. And it starts the same way every time: by asking The Important Questions—especially “What is your money for?”
As we transition our Insights into a more service-focused menu, here are the core pillars of what we do:
Retirement Planning
It’s the biggest transition of your life. We help you move from the "accumulation phase" to the "distribution phase" without the stress of wondering if the money will last. We focus on creating reliable income streams that let you enjoy your hard-earned freedom.
Estate Planning
What do you want your legacy to be? Estate planning isn't just for the ultra-wealthy; it’s for anyone who wants to ensure their wishes are respected and their loved ones are protected. We work with you to coordinate a strategy that minimizes taxes and maximizes the impact of your life's work.
TSP & Federal Benefits
For our federal employees, the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is a vital tool. However, it can be complicated. We specialize in helping federal workers optimize their benefits and integrate their TSP into a larger financial plan.
Investment Management
We believe in growth with a purpose. Our investment philosophy isn't about chasing the "hot tip" of the week. It’s about disciplined, long-term strategies that align with your risk tolerance and your ultimate goals.
Insurance & Risk Management
A good plan needs a good defense. Whether it's Life Insurance, Medicare planning, or protecting your business, we help you identify the risks that could derail your plan and find the right coverage to bridge the gap.
The Drumgoole Standard: What You Can Expect From Us
What does “The Drumgoole Standard” actually mean for you? It means we show up with discipline, we operate with integrity, and we treat your plan like a mission that deserves focus—not a file that gets dusted off once a year.
We’ve seen the market cycles, the tax law changes, and the shifting economic tides. Through it all, our commitment to personalized service has never wavered. We believe that financial planning is an ongoing conversation, not a one-time transaction.
We’re proud to be deeply rooted in the Jarrettsville community. When you walk into our office, you aren't walking into a cold, corporate skyscraper; you’re walking into a space where we know your name and see you as part of the local family. Brian even spearheaded a local networking group to support the fellow small businesses that make our town thrive. Plus, we think we have the best view around—looking out over the beautiful sunflower fields that are a true highlight of the area.
Because we care about the community we live in, we care just as much about the people in it; so yes, we can keep it casual - but we don’t keep it casual about the details.
